1. Where are my images & how do I download them?
After you purchase, you can download your images by clicking on the 'Download Images' link at the top of the site, below the search box on every page.
Download directions for PC users: Right click over the image (on the black background screen) and select a save option.
Download directions for MAC users: Hold the control key down and click over the image with your mouse. You should get a prompt to save the image. If not, you can try simply clicking and holding the mouse over the image. If neither of these options work for you, contact customer service.
If you purchased more than a one image, you may want to download your images in the zipped folder. Just click on the zipped folder icon and choose to save it to your computer. You may need to extract all files of the folder in order to use the images.
2. Can I use any of the images for free?
No. These images are not available for free use. You must purchase a royalty-free (rf) image license for each image before use. Why? The artist needs to make a living too. You wouldn't want to offer your services for free or work for your boss without pay, would you? Please do not contact us asking for free use. The answer is NO.
3. Does Royalty-Free mean free?
No. Although there are two different types of royalty-free in this industry, the most common is the type that we license. To us, royalty free means that you pay a one time fee and you get to use the image(s) forever, for multiple uses, without having to pay additional fees, also known as royalties, hence the term royalty-free. Please note that there are a few restrictions. Read our Royalty-Free (RF) End User License Agreement (EULA).
4. If I buy a small image now and I need a larger version later, can I upgrade?
Yes, you can upgrade by contacting Customer Service.
5. What is the difference between the small, medium and large image files?
The small files are meant for small web graphics. Depending on your quality standards, you may be able to print a small on a business card, however we suggest a medium or large file for any sort of printing.
The medium files are meant for small print projects such as postcards, brochures, business cards, larger web graphics, etc.
The large files are meant for larger print projects such as advertisements, posters, t-shirts, etc.
6. Can I make changes to the image?
Yes. After purchasing the royalty-free image license, you are welcome to alter the image in any way you please. Please note that you cannot claim copyright on altered images since the original and part of your altered image was created by the artist and is under copyright.
7. Can I use the images for my logo?
Yes. Please note that you cannot copyright or trademark your logo though. The artist always retains copyright and others can still license the same image and use them in the same manner.
8. What are your restrictions on using the images?
The images CANNOT be used on templates of any kind. This would be distributting our images without our permission. Each end user needs their own license.
The images CANNOT be used on community sites offering on demand products such as shirts, stickers, calendars, mugs, mouse pads, etc. The most common sites like this are cafepress, zazzle and polyvore. Our images may NOT be used on any of these sites. If you have your own personal site offering such products, yes, you may use the images for your own site or business.
You cannot copyright the images. The artist always retains the copyright and others can always license and use the images as well.
You CANNOT distribute the digital images in any way, including but not limited to digital downloads or on disc.
There may be other restrictions not listed here. If you have specific questions, contact customer service prior to using the image.
